Merit Millwork provides many different types of specialty millwork with the beauty of architectural precision. Balusters and newel posts are the most common pieces made with architectural turnings. However, finials, columns, cabinetry enhancements, and decorative legs for fireplace mantels can also be created. Merit Millwork can create most any turning up to 8 feet long and 6 inches in diameter.
Balusters are created in 36" and 42" lengths. They are 1-3/4" by 1-3/4".
Newel posts are 60" long, and 3-1/2" by 3-1/2".
Standard wood species are oak, poplar and select white poplar (for stain applications). The turned patterns on the balusters and newels, along with any other turning made, are crafted to complement each other beautifully.
