Aramco Services Company (ASC) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Saudi Aramco), the national oil company of . ASC has a contract with its parent company under which it provides a wide range of services through six departments operating out of its headquarters in Houston, Texas and an office in
Washington, D.C.
The range of services provided to Saudi Aramco includes engineering quality assurance and quality control, information technology, marine vessel services and logistics; purchasing and export of materials; financial services and management information; career-development programs for Saudi Aramco employees studying in North America as well as other training programs for U.S.-based employees; recruitment of North American personnel for Saudi Aramco;publication of various magazines, journals and electronic communication and handling of Community Affairs andPublic Relations functions.
ASC also provides oil spill services for Saudi Aramco in the
Western Hemisphere . In compliance with the U. S. Oil Pollution Act of 1990, ASC provides the Qualified Individual and spill management team for Vela International Marine, Ltd., the oil tanker fleet of Saudi Aramco.
ASC’s Washington office monitors government activities of direct interest to ASC and its affiliates. It monitors a variety of policy issues and collects published information on oil markets and economic trends, which it provides to interested company departments. It also represents the company in
Washington, D.C. , handling a variety of public-relations functions.
Aramco Services Company is a multi-faceted corporation which wholly owns three independent subsidiary companies and has partial interests in two others.
